Screenplay and choreography | Rosa mundi. The show tells the story of four prisoners tied one by one so that they cannot turn around while sitting on the ground deep in a cave. Outside the cave, there is a world in motion and voices. Music composed by Mario Bajardi in the background. The echo and the roar of the world penetrate the cave, altering human perception. Behind them, behind the cave wall, there is an intense fire, a real and imaginary projection of the prisoners generated by their shadows united with the real world. One of the prisoners constantly writes letters in a notebook and gradually creaks and throws them on the ground The texts of the letters are in French and are taken from the novel by the Belgian psychotherapist Sophie Buyse, published in 1995 by L’Ether Vague Patrice Thierry The well-known psychotherapist has wrote the many letters that make up his novel during a scientific internship that led in 1990 to the walls of the island of San Clemente in Venice, now transformed into a luxury hotel.

The four prisoners embody the genres of being attributable to the work of Plato, in pairs, that is, to the sensitive and the intelligible.

We thank Queen Zenobia who dared to rebel against the Roman Empire, Cleopatra, Dido and Semiramide, San Simeone Stilita la Vecchia and the archaeologist Khaled Asaad.

She thanks the humanity of Palmyra She marries the desert, the waters of the Euphrates river, the long Palms that surrounded its course, the humanity of Krak des Chevaliers, Qalʿat Ṣalāḥ al-Dīn, the ruins of the Fortress of Simeon Qal.at Sim .an, to the humanity of the Baalshamin temple, to the humanity of the Baal temple.

Palmyra, the city of palms, was the name of an ancient city in Syria, destroyed by the Arabs in the 6th century. It was an important caravan center on the Euphrates River, in the Syrian desert, where well-being and wealth were within everyone’s reach. Palmyra’s reign dates back to 267 BC. It was a place of tolerance, a crossroads of religions that coexisted freely. Bet – Zabbai, the Aramaic name of Zenobia, means daughter of Zabbai. In her Historia Augusta she was represented as a chaste, charismatic, attentive and generous queen who did not hesitate to take part in battles with her soldiers, both on horseback and on chariot. Zenobia was highly educated, spoke Aramaic, Egyptian, Greek and Latin, and fed her court of intellectuals and philosophers. He wanted her autonomy from the Roman Empire and wanted her reign of Asia Minor and Egypt to reunite under her. She managed to steal Arabia from the Romans with the help of the parties. But in 272 BC she had to surrender to Rome Caput Mundi.

Today the city of Palmyra, in Syria, is the symbol of a conflict that has lasted since March 2011, given an apparent revolt against President Bashar Assad, hitherto praised as the representative of a secure and secular state, a sort of Middle East hot door pad security.

A camouflaged civil war, which then revealed itself in the jihadist scientific fury and in the destructive violence of men compared to Al Qaeda, which today is revealed and delineated without more boundaries than doubt, a war on the ground between two different axes. : the Gulf monarchies, Turkey and the United States itself, which is opposed by the intervention of Iran and the Lebanese Shiite militias of Hezbollah alongside Assad. The war does not save anyone, it mainly affects civilians on a daily basis, causing massacres and massacres.

The media and international politics seemed determined to sack President Assad when on September 30, 2015, Russia intervened in support of the troops in Damascus. The scenario is complicated.

Today a proxy war is being fought in Syria where the main powers are involved. regional and world – use the people – the humanity of Palmyra of the XXI symbol – as pedines, involuntary fighters The number of victims, according to the Syrian observatory, is constantly increasing: 312,000 corpses 149,000 civilians 16,000 children and thousands of fugitives. Numbers destined to increase with each passing day.

The passing fugitives, the humanity in transit – the Passengers – are stolen of their everyday life, unaware guardians of the testimonies of a glorious past, people are used as shields of archaeological sites that make the international community shiver, they are forced to flee and cross the door. La Porta – abandon everything, slip into the darkness of an unknown future and leap into the void. The leap – of the Mare Internum Nostrum
